As a kid, I loved sci-fi stories. Movies and TV shows like “Star Wars,” “Star Trek” and “Battlestar Galactica” fed my dreams of space travel and aliens. While those franchises have been reborn and reimagined in recent years, there are also a whole new crop of sci-fi stories aimed at young people. One of those stories is the C.H.A.O.S. trilogy by author Jon S. Lewis.
Domination is the final book in the C.H.A.O.S. trilogy, a young adult sci-fi series that follows C.H.A.O.S. Military Cadet Colt McAllister’s ongoing war against the brutal alien race known as the Thule. Throughout the series, Colt has grown from a high school student to a hero as he discovers the aliens among us. This time, he is the world’s final hope to stop the impending Thule takeover of Earth.
Colt has been changed by the government, injected with Thule blood in an attempt to fufill an ancient prophecy that describes how to stop the evil aliens. The young hero struggles with the Thule blood running through his veins and the fear of what he could become. Will he be able to rise to the occasion and be the savior of the whole planet?
If you are a parent looking for positive books that you can give your kids to read, Colt is a good role model for any young person who my be reading this book. He struggles with who he is but holds on to his faith and his principles as he fights to overcome the Thule.
Lewis has done a great job of setting the stage for this final conflict in the first two books of the series: Invasion and Alienation. As with the first two books, Lewis creates lots of action, danger and plot twists that will keep any reader turning the pages. Although this book is intended for young adults, it is written so even adults can enjoy the fast-paced story and the engaging characters. I highly recommend this book for any fans of sci-fi, dystopian tales.
If you haven’t read Invasion or Alienation yet, I would recommend doing so before picking up Domination.
Domination is a thrilling conclusion to a wonderfully written trilogy.
On a scale of 1 to 5, I give Domination a 4.
